Ok who spotted the deliberate mistake? The OSCARS is not this week…it’s next week! So we have moved MED GOES TO THE MOVIES to the 29th for LEAP YEAR. We are going to do a tribute to THE ARTIST, the black and white silent movie that is tipped to do well at the Oscars on Sunday! So we are going to have girls dressesd as 1920’s FLAPPERS, men as dashing silver screen HEARTHROBS or silent comedy stars like CHARLIE CHAPLIN, HAROLD LLOYD or LAUREL & HARDY!

Actually because it’s LEAP YEAR and only happens on a Wednesday once every 28 years…why not come in fancy dress! We’ve not had a massive fancy dress night for ages! Doesn’t have to be movie stars but we have had some brilliant AVATARS & BLACK SWANS recently but like always we will leave it up to you!

This week all over the world is MARDI GRAS and to celebrate SOUTHERN COMFORT will be putting on some rather special and delicious sweet & spicy cocktails for MARDI GRAS MED! So don’t go out on Shrove Tuesday, it will be flatter than a pancake while Ash Wednesday in Med is going to be as bananas as Bourbon Street in New Orleans on an hot and steamy voodoo drenched evening! SOUTHERN COMFORT has a fine and long tradition of providing delicious drinks for this festival and Mardi Gras is massive in many French, Spanish & Portugese speaking countries particularly in RIO DE JANEIRO in Brazil! So please enjoy and drink sensibly!

In New Orleans there is a recent tradition whereby women have to bare their boobs for beads! We were thinking how terrible would that be at Med! Shocking behaviour and even though we will giving out beads on the Wednesday…girls don’t be making a boob of yourself on the dance floor….not unless you really want to and only then in the Medication DJ Box! Ha ha!

For serious Craic Addicts only!  With the exception of Halloween, Paddys is undoubtedly the biggest night in the student calendar! We are doing two Medications that week…normal Wednesday and an extra special Medication for St.Patrick’s Saturday. Shamrocks and shenanigans all night long as the world turns green for one day a year! Jump around to all your favourite Irish songs! Drink the black stuff in the Guinness Bar & eat the Green Candy Floss from our leapin’ leprechaun! We’ve already had loads of calls on this and it seems like Ireland is coming over for the weekend. It should be a brilliant day with England v Ireland in the rugby that day as well.

Ok we know it’s the day after but love will still be in the air and Cupid’s arrows will still be whizzing around like whizzy things so expect a Valentine’s Day fancy dress theme and some rather loved up Medication behaviour!  Radio City’s ANTON POWERS is back on the decks in the main room and it’s always a big night when Anton plays Med especially now as part of CAHILL he has become one of the most sought after production teams in the world having remixed everybody from Lady Ga Ga to Nicole Scherzinger, Black Eyed Peas to Professor Green. Anton is also a director and head of A&R at 3 Beat Productions, a Liverpool based record label that is home to Duck Sauce, Afrojack, Sak Noel, Sidney Samson, Alexandra Stan and Martin Solveig! Pretty impressive stuff!
